California Dreaming…

I usually don’t remember dreams, but somehow I remembered this one, I don’t know why.

Anyway, it was morning and I was scooping the cat’s poopie box before I go to work. I was in a bit of a hurry since I was running late. As I was scooping, the cat poop seem to multiply. The more I scoop the more shows up.

I don’t know how the dream end because I woke up. But I remember being disturbed that there were so much cat poop and I was going to be late for work.

Halo World!

We went to the Halo 3 launch party last night. It was a lot of fun, but I was also sad because my crush was MIA.

No, not Bill Gates, Master Chief! He’s always been a hero of mine since Halo 1.0. I always wanted to see the man underneath the mask, but at last my dream was not fulfilled.

It was a fun party. Lots of people playing video games and all that. Also, met up with all the old friends.

But, the most exciting part of the night is when Blake introduced me to Eric , the Eric Conveys an Emotion guy! I was star struck!

Who cares about Guy Kawasaki or Robert Scolbe , when you have Eric the emote guy? I had a few beers by then so I was gushing all over him. Poor guy, I am sure he gets it all the time.

Got some t-shirts and posters for Conor, I am sure he’d be thrilled to get some free swag.

Justin and His Sexy Back

Last night, I went to see Justin bring his sexy back.

It’s been a while since been I have been to a concert at one of the sky boxes in HP Pavilion. At LS, PK would give usconcert tickets at his VIP Box. It was fun hanging out with people from work on a social level.

I have to admit, I am not a big Justin fan. The only song I know is “Bring Sexy back” and the only reason I know that song is because the song is ridiculous and funny.

Anyway, I was about to have a quiet Sunday evening at home with the animals and a bad movie, but Joe called an said he had an extra ticket to see Justin. Never one to pass on a free event, I had Peter drop me off in front of the pavilion and got my ticket at will call. Had a close call because I was not quite sure which box I am suppose to be at. Show the guy my id, and he looked for a while and said who are you with? I was like sigh, and called Joe. But before the first ring happened, the dude handed me my ticket. I guess someone just ran down with the ticket.

Going through the VIP line brings back all sorts of memories of hanging out with my ex coworkers drinking and partying at PK’s box. It was such a rush for us when we see people take out their cell phones to take pictures and send to their friends. I think the feeling of seeing people using the technology en mass like that is prob. one of those once in a life time thing. PK was quite an innovator.

Anyway, it turned out this box belong to some company (Brocade) who make switches and he was taking the Yahoo team out for the night. I hung out with the sales guy, my brother, and his friends at Yahoo. It was quite fun. We drank, partied, saw Justin got on stage.

Unfortunately, I didn’t know most of his songs so I mostly just drank and chatted with my brother’s friend.

I have to admit, Justin is a very energetic performer, he was running around, dancing, etc. Most of the concerts I go to the performer just sings. I guess maybe Prince danced.

The crowd roared when he started to sing “Bring Sexy Back.” Actually, the crowd roared whenever he sang. The demographic was so different than all the concerts I have been too. There were lots of little girls with their moms.

Afterwards, we hit a few bars for last call.

I stayed way past my bed time, but I seem to be doing ok today. Well, everything was going well until I knocked over a big cup of coffee on myself. Sigh, and tonight’s Halo 3 launch party! Maybe my pants will dry out by then.

Happy 2.5 Birthday, Sophie!

Today is the 1 year anniversary of the date we brought Sophie home from the SPCA. (You can find the blog entry here.

Why 2.5 birthday you ask? Well, she was 1.5 year when I got her. But for me, birthday begins the day we bring them home. But it doesn’t seem right to round down or up. So happy 2.5 birthday it is! Sophie didn’t complain about it so I figure she probably agrees as well.

She has come a long way since the first day I brought her home. She was so sick and skinny, but now she’s put on some weight and fluffed out. She’s a bundle of cuddly chubby cat with lots of fur.

She also has some really cute habits. When I come home from work, she greets me at the front door. She comes when you call her name. She’s more like a little dog than a cat.

Anyway, Joe brought over a cake and I made dinner. I asked for a fish flavored cake (in honor of the cat!) but it appears that fish flavor cake is not as popular hence was not available. Instead we had a fabulous chocolate cake from a local bakery in Saratoga.

After dinner we all put on the party hat I got on Friday and put the candle on the cake and took pictures.

The dog didn’t want to wear the party hat (jealous perhaps?!) and the cat got tired of us man handling her trying to get a photo of her with a hat.

It took a while tried to get a photo of all of us. I didn’t really know how to use the timer, and so we had to hold the cat many many times. As you can see, though the cat look mad, she was a good sport about getting her photo taken. She ran away as soon as the photo was taken.
