Total Eclipse of The Heart

Total Lunar Eclipse tonight (well, tomorrow morning to be precise at 2:00am or so) I am pretty excited about it.

Last time I saw an eclipse (solar) was when I was still working in downtown Santa Cruz. There were lots of people on the street with their home made viewing boxes. We made a pin hole device and projected the eclipse against my cube wall. It was neat and freaky when it got dark. One my co workers freaked out, he thought we were making fun of him.

I am really excited about it tonight. We are busting out the telescope that’s been in the garage since we moved to the new house! My plan is to go to bed early and set my alarm clock at 2ish and get up and take some pictures.

If I get any good ones I’ll post them.

Until then!

Hi there!

Me!

Through the years, I have read blogs on Blogger, Live Journal, Open Diary (are they still around?!), but never felt comfortable posting content on any of the services. For one thing, I can never think of anything good to say about anyone! 😉

I also didn’t like having my data on someone else’s server. I suppose, it doesn’t make a difference now a days. Your data is every where and oh so accessible. Most of the time all you need is an email address and you can look up the person’s IM, flickr, etc. Technology can be pretty scary and exciting at the same time!

Anyway, after a year of struggling with my ickie blogging software, I decided to join the rest of the world and install Word Press. I have to say, so far it’s been a pure joy to install/work with. I love the fact that everything is stored in the database. If I want I can just get it out!

A little unknown fact about me, I have a thing for databases, especially relational ones. They just make me all gooey inside. But that’s another story for another time when I take a trip down memory lane.

I’ll keep my old blog up for archival purposes, but I am never going back, and that’s a promise.

Until next time!
